Globalization takes a prominent and complex role in public policy such that policy makers must deal simultaneously with initiatives on the state, regional, national, and unilateral levels.  The Institute for Progressive Leadership’s Global Leaders Training Program (GLTP) is an intensive and spirited opportunity for state legislators and senior executive appointed and elected leaders to develop as statesmen by: experiencing a greater understanding of global issues and the underpinnings to their state; developing a deep knowledge of the visiting nation’s institutions, systems and authorities that affect their constituents’ security, economic, agricultural, technological, and environmental well-being; interpreting another nation’s development, potential and challenges identifying similarities and differences with the United States; advancing leadership skills through emphasis on core values and competencies in preparation for ascension to higher office; and to participate in a network of colleagues, at home and abroad, with whom they can maintain lasting relationships.
